W.P. Schmitz Foundation

In 1985 the W. P. Schmitz Foundation was set up by Werner Peter Schmitz as a non-profit foundation for development aid under the terms of the Foundations‘ Act of the German State of North-Rhine Westphalia.

Principal among its aims are the promotion of local self-help projects in developing countries and the training of young people and adults in food security, manual trades and small-scale commerce.

Apart from these development aid projects, we also run projects to promote understanding between different groups, and purely charitable projects. Handicapped children and old people are the main focus of our charitable work.
